Promoting mental and physical health through relaxation and pain relief.

Client-centered care is the focus of my work in massage therapy. I discuss clients’ concerns, preferences, and desired outcomes at the outset of each session, and work with them to achieve their goals. I often give “homework” in the form of a small number of targeted stretches that enhance and extend the therapeutic benefits of the massage. I enjoy helping people understand the underlying causes of their aches and pains, and multi-faceted ways to reduce their symptoms.
With a PhD in Biology, I’ve come to massage therapy after a career as a scientist. This has given me not only an in-depth understanding of how the human body works, but also a deductive approach to understanding how best to help clients alleviate pain. On a deeper level, I passionately believe that massage offers people compassion and comfort that is invaluable to all aspects of health and well-being. Caring for people is satisfying in an immediate, daily way that my previous career was not. The idea that people feel better, and are probably happier, after seeing me makes massage therapy wonderfully rewarding!
