Neuromuscular Massage Therapy
The goal of neuromuscular massage therapy (NMT) is to bring about balance between the muscular and central nervous system (CNS). Based on neurological laws that explain how the CNS initiates and maintains pain, NMT helps relieve pain and dysfunction by understanding and alleviating the underlying cause. NMT can help individuals who experience distortion and biomechanical dysfunction, which is often a symptom of a deeper problem. It is used to locate and release spasms and hypercontraction in the tissue, eliminate trigger points that cause referred pain, rebuild the strength of injured tissues, assist venous and lymphatic flow, and restore postural alignment, proper biomechanics, and flexibility to the tissues. Oftentimes, these conditions will refer pain to other areas of the body, causing chronic pain, headaches and even migraines. NMT is excellent in treating chronic pain, injury rehabilitation, neck, jaw and head pain, as well as tight and restrictive areas in the muscular structure.
